ZOOM ISOMEET

To set up a #isomeet, follow these simple steps

1 DECIDE ON YOUR PLATFORM

There are several out there. You can use WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, Zoom etc. For the sake of this example, I'm going to show you how to do it on Zoom. If you want to take a look at the other options take a look here. Feel free to use the chat function, if you want help setting up on other platforms. Or take a look at this guide.

How to set up your Zoom

meeting on a Mac or PC

STEP 1. If you haven't already done so, download zoom for your desktop or mobile device.

STEP 2. Sign in to zoom or sign up if it's your first visit.

STEP 3: click on the orange icon that reads 'New Meeting' to start a meeting.

STEP 4: Click the 'Join With Computer Audio' icon to start your Zoom meeting. Your camera should turn on and you can now manage your meeting settings with the dashboard on the bottom of your screen.

STEP 5: In order to invite others to join copy the invitation URL (website address) and send it to whomever you want to invite. You can also send them the meeting id (the numbers at the end of the website address) and your guests can type it straight into zoom. 

STEP 6. Create an invite and email it along with the links or send them via whatsapp or social media to the people you want to come along.

STEP 7: If you want to schedule a meeting for some time in the future press the 'Schedule' button instead of 'New Meeting' button (STEP  and copy the invitation address or number from there.

STEP 8: Log into the room at least 10 minutes before the start to welcome guests in. When you set the room up, you can choose if your guests can come straight into the room or if they have to wait in a waiting room for you to bring them in.

STEP 9: If there are a lot of people in the room, you will need to moderate the chat otherwise it will be chaos. Ask each person who wants to speak to raise their hand and you can then bring them in. Also it is important that if there are a lot of people in the room that you ask everyone to mute their microphones when they are not speaking, otherwise it gets very noisy!!

STEP 10: Enjoy the chat. As we are all learning on here, post any advice or experiences onto the forum.

Please note setting up Zoom on an android or ios mobile device is very similar. A full mobile guide will be posted very soon.
